FOOTBALL (11-28-09) – Faith Christian 28, Brush 7

QB Michal Twedell scored 2 touchdowns and Faith Christian capitalized on 4 Brush turnovers as the Eagles advanced to the Class 2A state championship game against Kent Denver to take place on Saturday, December 5th at Legacy Stadium in Aurora.

FOOTBALL (11-21-09) – Brush 28, Platte Valley 0

Skyler Seewald scored two touchdowns while Shay Hansen added another on a 34 yard pass from C.J. Kukus and Eric Garcia also found the end zone as the Brush Beetdiggers advanced to the Class 2A semifinals with the win over Platte Valley at Beetdigger Stadium.

Brush, which came up with 5 turnovers including an interception and fumble recovery by Joe Rosenbrock, will play on Saturday in Arvada against Faith Christian beginning at 1:00 with Beetdigger Blastoff commencing at noon on 1010 KSIR and www.ksir.com.

FOOTBALL (11-14-09) – Brush 10, Florence 7

Jesus Cardenas drilled a 31 yard field goal with 6.6 seconds remaining as Brush defeated Florence in the opening round of the 2A playoffs on the road. Brush’s lone TD came on a 20 yard scoring pass from Eric Garcia to C.J. Kukus in the 2nd quarter. The Beetdiggers will host Platte Valley on Saturday at 1:00 in a quarterfinal game on 1010 KSIR and KSIR.com.

GYMNASTICS (11-7-09) – Fort Morgan finishes 4th in Class 4A

The Fort Morgan Mustangs came in 4th place with a score of 162.425 in the Class 4A state gymnastics championships from Thornton High School (Please refer to video clips for individual scores in the finals events).

FOOTBALL (11-6-09) – Brush 43, University 7

The Beetdiggers won their 6th consecutive game as they raced out to a 35-0 halftime lead. C.J. Kukus threw and caught a touchdown pass for the ‘Diggers, who ended the regular season with a 6-1 record in Patriot League play and 6-4 overall.

FOOTBALL (11-2-09) – Brush 35, Strasburg 20

Tanner Morrow scored 3 touchdowns in the first half and Conner Weisser added 2 in the 2nd half as the Beetdiggers won their 5th consecutive game and clinched a playoff berth for the 8th straight season.

FOOTBALL (10-31-09) – Roosevelt 21, Fort Morgan 12

Jeff Kielian scored 2 touchdowns as Roosevelt defeated Fort Morgan at Legion Field in Fort Morgan.
