GIRLS BASKETBALL (3-13-10) – St. Mary’s 53, Brush 32

Playing without the ill Alicia Nichols, Brush fell behind by 15 points in the 2nd quarter and although they drew to within 4 in the 3rd, St. Mary’s closed the game on a 26-9 run for the blowout victory. Brush concluded the season with a 23-4 record.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (3-12-10) – Brush 40, Coal Ridge 24

Erin Berg scored 11 points and the Beetdiggers were very solid on the defensive end advancing to the 3A state consolation championship game from Moby Arena in Fort Collins vs. St. Mary’s, which defeated Estes Park, 67-63 in overtime. Brush is now 23-3 on the season.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (3-11-10) – Holy Family 68, Brush 47

Brush led Holy Family early by a score of 12-6, but the Tigers dominated the rest of the way to win the Class 3A state quarterfinal from Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Brush, which dropped to 22-3, will play a consolation semifinal vs. Coal Ridge, which lost to Olathe, 40-25.

Beetdigger Girls Basketball

Today’s Beetdigger girls basketball game is on 106.3 – that’s B106!  It will also be streamed on the B106 webstream – the link is on the right!  The game is scheduled for 11:45 but may get started late if the earlier game goes longer.

BOYS BASKETBALL (3-5-10) – Brush 78, Dolores Huerta 65

Kolby Wahlert paced 4 players in double figures with 24 points as Brush won it’s opening round 3A state tournament game from Kent Denver High School in Englewood. Brush improved to 17-6 and will face Kent Denver at 1:00 on Saturday with the winner to advance to the quarterfinals from Moby Arena in Fort Collins.

Friday’s Class 3A opening round state tournament boys basketball game between Brush and Dolores Huerta from Kent Denver High School starting at 7:00 can be heard on 1010 KSIR as weel as www.ksir.com. During that game, we’ll be providing updates of the opening round girls basketball game in Brush between the Beetdiggers and Kent Denver Sun Devils, which also begins at 7:00.

BOYS BASKETBALL (2-26-10) – Brush 56, Yuma 42

Kolby Wahlert scored 23 points as Brush won the 3rd place game in the Patriot League tournament from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Brush upped their record to 16-6 with the victory.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (2-26-10) – Brush 33, Erie 30

Brush went on a 14-0 1st half run and held on to earn 3rd place in the Patriot League tournament from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Brush, which improved to 20-2 with the win, is the 7th seed heading into the upcoming 3A state tournament and will host the 26th seed, Kent Denver, on Friday beginning at 7:00 on 1010 KSIR and www.ksir.com.

BOYS BASKETBALL (2-25-10) – Eaton 56, Brush 48

Brush blew a 19 point and Eaton scored 45 of the game’s final 63 points in the semifinals of the Patriot League tournament from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. 15-6 Brush will play Yuma on Friday at 4:30 for 3rd place.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (2-25-10) – Eaton 41, Brush 33

Eaton closed the game on a 21-6 run to stun Brush in the semifinals of the Patriot League tournament from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. 19-2 Brush will play Erie on Friday at 3:00 for 3rd place.
