GIRLS BASKETBALL (3-13-10) – St. Mary’s 53, Brush 32

Playing without the ill Alicia Nichols, Brush fell behind by 15 points in the 2nd quarter and although they drew to within 4 in the 3rd, St. Mary’s closed the game on a 26-9 run for the blowout victory. Brush concluded the season with a 23-4 record.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (3-12-10) – Brush 40, Coal Ridge 24

Erin Berg scored 11 points and the Beetdiggers were very solid on the defensive end advancing to the 3A state consolation championship game from Moby Arena in Fort Collins vs. St. Mary’s, which defeated Estes Park, 67-63 in overtime. Brush is now 23-3 on the season.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (3-11-10) – Holy Family 68, Brush 47

Brush led Holy Family early by a score of 12-6, but the Tigers dominated the rest of the way to win the Class 3A state quarterfinal from Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Brush, which dropped to 22-3, will play a consolation semifinal vs. Coal Ridge, which lost to Olathe, 40-25.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (2-26-10) – Brush 33, Erie 30

Brush went on a 14-0 1st half run and held on to earn 3rd place in the Patriot League tournament from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Brush, which improved to 20-2 with the win, is the 7th seed heading into the upcoming 3A state tournament and will host the 26th seed, Kent Denver, on Friday beginning at 7:00 on 1010 KSIR and www.ksir.com.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (2-25-10) – Eaton 41, Brush 33

Eaton closed the game on a 21-6 run to stun Brush in the semifinals of the Patriot League tournament from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. 19-2 Brush will play Erie on Friday at 3:00 for 3rd place.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (2-23-10) – Brush 59, Platte Valley 33

After allowing 18 points in the opening quarter, Brush gave up just 15 the rest of the way in winning their Patriot League tournament quarterfinal game at home. The top seeded Beetdiggers, at 19-1, will play on Thursday in a semifinal starting at 6:00 vs. Eaton from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and can be heard on 1010 KSIR as well as www.ksir.com.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (2-11-10) – Brush 61, Yuma 36

Alicia Nichols scored 17 points and Brush clinched the Patriot League regular season title with a home win. Brush won their 13th in a row moving their league record to 9-0 and overall record to 17-1.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (2-9-10) – Brush 63, Eaton 49

Erin Berg scored 14 points while Sarah Padilla added 13 as the Brush rallied from a 7 point 1st quarter deficit in Eaton. Brush improved to 9-0 in Patriot League play and 16-1 overall.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (1-29-10) – Brush 64, Valley 51

Alicia Nichols led 3 players in double figures with 19 points as Brush defeated Valley in Gilcrest. Brush improved to 6-0 in Patriot League play and 13-1 overall.

GIRLS BASKETBALL (1-26-10) – Brush 59, Estes Park 48

Erin Berg paced 3 players in double figures with 13 points as Brush won at Estes Park. The Beetdiggers improved to 5-0 in Patriot League play and 12-1 overall.
